Kris Glover BA (Hons), PG Dip CABC, CCAB - Pet Behaviour Counsellor

Kris Glover :: Trick performed on cue of Atchoo

Pets in Practise is owned by Kris Glover who lives in Burghfield Common, Reading.  She has had dogs since a child, including both working and rescue dogs, and now lives with her Jack Russell Terrier (Scamps) and Collie Cross (Penny).  Her practical experience includes over 20 years of helping people to train and also modify their pet's behaviour. This extensive practical experience also benefits from working as a rehomer at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, and being brought up on a farm gave her plenty of opportunity to work with working collies and terriers.  As a result she can appreciate problems exhibited as a result of natural instinct.

Kris developed a keen interest in Canine and Human Psychology which led her to complete several courses in Animal Behaviour, achieving not only a First Class Honours degree in Animal Behaviour Management (BA Hons) but also a distinction in the Southampton University Postgraduate Diploma programme in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling (PG Dip CABC). This academic learning also includes passing with distinction, an Advanced Diploma in Animal Behaviour Management, Advanced Canine / Human Interface course with the Animal Care College and Diploma in Animal Behaviour and Training from COAPE.

Kris is a CCAB (Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist), Full Member of the APBC (Association for Pet Behaviour Counsellors) and the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers).  Because of Kris' properly certified status as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist, all pet insurers, that include behaviour on their policies, will cover part or all of Kris' behaviour consultation service fee. Please contact your pet insurer for more details.

Kris is currently undertaking a Master's degree project, which is titled: Is a person's attitude towards dark-coated and light-coated dogs different? Can favourable and unfavourable statements, about dark and light coloured dogs, alter these attitudes? If you are interested in this subject or are willing to fill in a questionnaire to help Kris' research please contact us.

Pets in Practise is used by Burghfield Veterinary Surgery (Burghfield Common), Moor Cottage Veterinary Surgery (Binfield), Sunninghill Vets (Sunninghill), St Vincents Veterinary Surgery (Wokingham), Castle Vets (Reading) plus many other veterinary practices in the Berkshire / North Hampshire area as their referring behaviourist, which further demonstrates Kris’ professionalism.
